Beach Front Condo in Orange Beach, AL, Near Resturants
About Ric Lewallen
Alice and I (Ric) have been married 42 years and have moved 19 times. We have two grown children and three grandchildren. I served in the Air Force, flying helicopters and fixed wing aircraft. Alice is from Mississippi and went to Belhaven University. Our condo has been a great family gathering place and the source of many great times together over the years.
Why Ric Lewallen chose Orange Beach
When we purchased this unit, we knew we liked it, but only after owning it for 20 years, have we come to appreciate the benefits of our location and unit. Our location is less than 1/4 mile from a grocery store and other associated shopping. Now, you don't even have to drive to get sundries; the Dollar General store is across the street. You don't appreciate that until you realize you forgot to bring something. We have a nice indoor pool, hot tub with seating around the pool area. The outdoor pool area is very pleasant for those of us (ie me) who are not as wild about sand. Being located in Central Orange Beach makes access to anything extremely easy.
What makes this Condo unique
The size of this unit is excellent for family vacations. The 12'x24' porch is probably one of the best aspects of the unit. It is huge compared to many other units, offers a great view and a sense of privacy that other condos do not have. The large size makes it great for everyone to hang out.
Orange Beach rentals – your booking assistant
Condo, cottage, beach shack, or villa, there's really no end to the mix of Orange Beach rentals out there. The one thing that unites them all is that they sit on unquestionably one of the most handsome stretches of shoreline in the South. It's quartz-white, it's home to dolphins and clear waters, and it's got a little moxie thrown in for good measure.
The enticing features of top Orange Beach rentals
So, what is it that makes the crème-de-la-crème of vacation rentals in Orange Beach, AL, stand out from the crowd? A lot, actually. From private water slides and tropical gardens to stunning balconies that overlook the beaches, you're sure to find plenty to help make it an extra special trip.
Orange Beach rentals – beachfront is best
Generally speaking, it's a little easier to secure a front-row property in Alabama than in the bigger resorts of Florida's Panhandle. That means there's a chance you'll be able to open the patio doors and take in sweeping 180-degree vistas of the shoreline, its sparkling sands, and the azure coast waters. Nice.
Your own water park, if you please
Why trudge over the dunes to the rolling waves of the Gulf of Mexico whenever it's time to cool off when you could score a home away from home that has access to its very own aqua park? Yep, some beach rentals in Orange Beach are ringed by lazy rivers, babbling splash pools, and swimming spots that have corkscrewing slides. They're a real favorite of families.
The shared extras of an Orange Beach condo
There's not just one awesome aspect to condominium rentals – there are loads. Shared facilities are what take these convenient, clean, and versatile stays to the next level. That could be something as simple as a boardwalk path leading from your front door to the main beach. Or, it could be a luxurious communal pool, a gym, a spa – you name it.
A guide to Orange Beach rental neighborhoods and areas
Straddling a wide barrier island between Wolf Bay and the Gulf of Mexico, Orange Beach crosses state parks, buzzy boardwalks, and even juts into neighboring resorts where you can find great alternatives to Orange Beach vacation rentals, perhaps even for lower rates.
The beating hub of Orange Beach
With the spurting volcanos and swashbuckling adventures of Adventure Island on one side, pristine beaches of cotton white on the other, and a whole potpourri of BBQ grills and sports bars up its sleeve, the heart of Orange Beach, on the Alabama Coastal Connection, is where you'll want to be with the family. It's got condos and duplexes by the bucket load.
Perdido Key – on the road to the Sunshine State
To the east of Orange Beach, across the Perdido Pass and beyond Alabama Point East, you hit the salty tracks of Perdido Beach Blvd. That's your ticket to Florida, believe it or not. But before you cruise over the state line, be sure to take a gander at the clutch of luxurious villa complexes on offer in AL. Many have beachfront access, some have private pools, and there are even options with boat moorings on the Old River.
Make for the Gulf State Park
There are two whole miles of protected beachfront waiting at the Gulf State Park to the west, not to mention acre upon acre of alligator-snapping swamps and shell-strewn dunes for the budding adventurer. It might even be better for you to keep going and seek out a rental in Gulf Shores if you're heading there. That town reigns as one of Alabama's most happening family coastal getaways.
How to find the cheapest Orange Beach, Alabama, rentals
So, you're on the hunt for a real bargain? Best start below. These pointers can kick-start that budget-friendly accommodation quest with a few tried-and-tested methods of keeping costs low…
The seasons often dictate the price
Average nightly rates creep up and up as the thermometer creeps up and up in Orange Beach, meaning the cheapest vacation homes of all here are typically in winter. But if you're certain you want to soak up the Southern rays, how about visiting in April, May, September, or October, when there's a nice balance between prices and warmth.
Orange Beach rentals on the beachfront cost more
It's a reality you're just going to have to accept if you're on a tighter budget – the joy of waking to the sound of licking waves and the calls of the seagulls usually costs extra. But don't worry, there are condos and flats a mere block or two back from the beachfront where rates can dip considerably.
Booking early is the wise move
Orange Beach, together with Gulf Shores to the west, is among the most popular summertime escapes for Alabama locals, but they also draw 1000s of folk from all over the country between Memorial Day and Labor Day. That means you're going to have stiff competition for the most attractive deals, so booking early is key.
