Colorado Greyhound Adoption is a 100% volunteer, 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to finding permanent loving homes for and promoting the adoption and welfare of retired racing greyhounds as excellent family pets.

Based in the metropolitan Denver area, our volunteer base continues to grow, as more and more greyhound enthusiasts become involved. Our group maintains a racing neutral stance.

There are several greyhound adoption organizations in Colorado. A few factors that distinguish the groups are: Adoption Process, Sponsorship, Group Support, and Fostering Approach

Have a question about a meet and greet, or an upcoming event? Fill out the form below and we will get back to you as soon as we can!

Our members & kennel professionals are encouraged to make the best choices for the continued care of their greyhounds after racing.  It is only natural that our members & kennels want access to referrals & references to best place their greyhounds in groups that excel at greyhound adoption in the United States.

This is a resource list of responsible adoption groups that the National Greyhound Association has proudly endorsed as adoption partners in the successful efforts of placing retiring greyhounds into pet homes.

Additionally, the * designates that these adoption placement organizations, solely on their own accord & without influence, chose to participate as one of the 102 groups opposing Florida's pending ban on greyhound racing

Covid19 Status

Minnesota Greyhound RescueMinnesota Greyhound Rescue

Due to COVID-19 and an overwhelming amount of applications as a result, our application processing times have increased. We will continue to accept applications for the hounds in our care but please be aware that we currently have a large backlog of applications. We are volunteer-run, and our volunteers are under extra pressure with jobs and kids at home, so applications are being processed slower than normal. We ask for your patience during this difficult time. Thank you for your continued support as we care for our pups! We ask that you also support our adoption partners Fundación Benjamín Mehnert, Candy Cane Rescue and PAWS Animal Rescue Ireland who are under immense pressure as they can no longer move dogs overseas. If you can spare any donation money for them, it would also be greatly appreciated.

Minnesota Greyhound Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that is dedicated to finding permanent, loving homes, for all Sighthounds. Our goal is to assist any Greyhound, Lurcher, Staghound, Whippet, Galgo, or any other Sighthound in need — both locally and internationally. We rescue, transport, provide medical care, adopt, and support Sighthounds in the Twin Cities, Rochester, and greater Minnesota areas. Our mission includes educating the public about the availability and suitability of Greyhounds and other Sighthound breeds as family pets.

Run for Adoption, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to finding homes for retired racing greyhounds.

Thank you! It's been a great run!

When we started Run For Adoption Greyhound  the greyhound industry was thriving and the greyhounds that needed homes were plentiful.  In the last couple of years that has changed radically.  With the closing of the racetracks in Florida there are less and less greyhounds being produced  and more and more groups willing to help them.  It has become difficult to find retired greyhounds for our program.  It has become clear that our group, Run for Adoption, has run its course.  After nearly 15 years of service to greyhounds and their families,  we have planned an exit strategy for closing our doors.

Of course for the greyhounds whom we placed.  We will continue to be a support to all of the hounds we have placed throughout their lives but we will not be taking in any new hounds.  There will be no newly retired greyhounds arriving.  If one of our placements need a new home for any reason, arrangements will be made for them to be fostered and placed.  We still hope once it is safe to do so to have one big last reunion picnic.  Stay tuned for information on that.

Our Mission

Our goal is to find responsible, forever homes for each retired racing greyhound in our care.

Retired racing greyhounds are highly intelligent, adaptable dogs who after a brief time, easily adjust to their new environment.  They are quick to learn, eager to please and love attention.  They are "people" dogs. The Greyhound's devotion to his owner is legendary.

Greyhounds are grateful for their new homes and reward their owners with never-ending affection.  Raised with their littermates where they needed to compete for affection, they thrive on being the center of attention in your family.  If you are lookin' for love, and have a little extra room in your heart and home, please consider the pups still looking for a home.  See our Available Hound page.

I understood that it was time to explain myself and one June evening we had a serious conversation: - Tell me why you no longer want to be in bed with. I asked, pouring myself some tea. - Do you understand Vitya.

Greyhound Rescue - Get Greyhound Ready

Yawning, I trudged to the toilet, then to the kitchen to pour myself a glass of water. - Did you get enough sleep. - Quite. Is Masha at work. - Well yes.

Now discussing:

Andrei himself, falling asleep, took aim and found with his gaze a place on Tanya's chest, where through a thin, translucent night shirt one could guess a. Small hill. The scout lightly, touching slightly, pressed the girl's button. Tatyana shuddered, but did not wake up. The bullying did not last long, due to the unexpected falling asleep of their source.
