Aaron Rodgers’ dating history: His fiancée, ex-girlfriends, rumored flings
Aaron Rodgers isn’t getting a Super Bowl ring in 2021, but he sure put a ring on it.
Ahead of the big game, the Green Bay Packers quarterback — who is reportedly dating actress Shailene Woodley — shocked fans by announcing that he’s engaged. While accepting the Most Valuable Player award during the NFL Honors, he referenced his fiancée — though he didn’t provide a name.
Before his rumored romance with Woodley, Rodgers had a string of high-profile relationships over the years, most recently with former NASCAR driver Danica Patrick. The pair called it quits in July 2020.
Here’s a look back at Rodgers’ most famous romances and flings.
In 2011, Rodgers was briefly linked to “Gossip Girl” star Jessica Szohr. Although the pair called it quits, they gave love another shot in early 2014.
“They broke up because her schedule was crazy for awhile and they just couldn’t stay together in that situation but now they have been spending their free time together and things feel good. They fell right back into it,” a source told Us Weekly at the time.
Following Rodgers’ split from Szohr, he began dating actress Olivia Munn in the spring of 2014.
Munn, who previously dated actor Joel Kinnaman, has spoken openly about her romance with Rodgers, including game-day sex habits.
Following their breakup in 2017, Munn addressed the controversy regarding the frosty relationship between Rodgers and his family.
“I was friendly with Jordan [Rodgers] and I met the parents only a couple of times,” Munn said in a 2018 interview on SiriusXM’s “Radio Andy.”
“Before he and I started dating, he hadn’t spoken to the parents and one brother for like eight months before we started dating,” she continued.
Munn said she encouraged Rodgers to have a heart-to-heart with his family.
“They had a really nice conversation, then they started coming out my first year when I was in Green Bay in 2014,” Munn said in the 2018 interview. “I just think it’s really important to try to mend things in a family, and I encouraged that.”
In the spring of 2017, Rodgers was spotted on a golf date with Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model Kelly Rohrbach.
The two were photographed at the Westchester Golf Course in Los Angeles, per TMZ.
Rodgers’ romance with Danica Patrick revved up in early 2018.
Over the course of their two-year relationship, the couple documented their vacations and date nights together. In 2019, they even purchased a $28 million Malibu estate.
By the summer of 2020, however, a rep for the former Indy Car driver confirmed to Page Six that the pair had called it quits.
Rodgers, who signed a four-year, $134 million contract extension with Green Bay in 2018, said in September 2020 he’s got a “new and increased love of life.”
“I’ve made decisions and changes and habits that put me in a lot better head space and there’s just a lot of things that have come together in my life over the last few months that have really been enjoyable and reminded me, given me perspective, on life and in football to view things through the most positive lens I possibly can,” Rodgers said in an interview with SiriusXM’s “Pat McAfee Show.”
Rodgers may have found a new No. 1 fan in Shailene Woodley.
In February 2021, reports emerged that Rodgers and the “Big Little Lies” star were an item.
Then just days later, Rodgers sent shockwaves through the worlds of sports and Hollywood when he announced that he’s engaged. While accepting the Most Valuable Player award during the NFL Honors, the football star thanked his fiancée — though he didn’t give a name.
Shailene Woodley reveals secret agreement she and fiance Aaron Rodgers made after surprise engagement
SHAILENE Woodley has revealed the secret agreement she and fiance Aaron Rodgers made after their surprise engagement.
The Green Bay Packers quarterback stunned fans in February when he thanked his "fiancée" during an MVP acceptance speech.
The pair had kept their romance a secret, and now Shailene has let slip that this was because they made a pact not tell anyone.
The happy couple want to be in charge of the information that is revealed about their relationship.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter she confessed: "When we announced that we were engaged, we wanted to do that only because we didn't want someone else to do it before we did.
"And we didn't do it for months and months after we had become engaged, but the reaction to it was really a lot, and so we were like, ‘Let's just politely decline [to talk about the relationship] for a little while and live in our little bubble.'"
According to the magazine, the two were introduced through mutual friends, both musicians, and grew their bond during the pandemic, moving in together within a few months and traveling back and forth between California and Wisconsin.
"You could travel, but you had masks on," Shailene recalled. "There was a sense of anonymity that otherwise I don't think we would have had. We were really able to get to know one another the way we wanted to get to know one another and not have any noise or chaos around us."
Fans of the couple were left in shock earlier this year when Aaron let the world know he was engaged to Shailene.
While making a virtual appearance to accept the 2020 MVP as he gushed: "It's an honor to win this award for the third time.
"2020 was definitely a crazy year filled with lots of change and growth, some amazing memorable moments.
"180 straight days of having my nose hair scraped, playing for very little fans or no stands the entire season."
He then shared: "I got engaged."
He added: "Off the field, I got a really great group of people that support me. So I'd like to thank my team, and my fiancée...."
This would have been a not so head-turning announcement, had it not been for the fact that just days prior, rumors began to swirl that Aaron was dating Shailene - neither party has officially confirmed their relationship.
Aaron's love history is filled with many famous faces, including actress and TV personality Olivia Munn - the former pair dated from 2014 to 2017.
After they parted ways, he went on to date former race car driver Danica Patrick, 38, from 2018 to 2020.
As for Shaliene she was previously linked to dating Australian-Fijian rugby player Ben Volavola.
Shailene Woodley has revealed a tiny bit more about the mysterious origin story of her engagement to Aaron Rodgers, saying in a new interview that she and the NFL star “immediately” started living together after they began dating.
Woodley’s interview with Shape magazine also suggests that their romance and “immediate” cohabitation could have begun last summer — around the time the Green Bay Packers quarterback ended his high-profile two-year relationship with former race car driver Danica Patrick.
Even until this point, Woodley, 29, and Rodgers, 37, have been oddly vague about the timing and logistics of their romance. Perhaps they wanted to avoid any backlash from Patrick fans, especially with observers noting that he reportedly left Patrick for Woodley or that there had been a love “triangle.”
Here’s what Woodley said — and didn’t say — to Shape magazine about how she and Rodgers got together. The film and TV star didn’t directly say when she and Rodgers met but revealed that things moved unusually quickly because of COVID-19.
“Starting a relationship where you immediately move in with someone — because it’s a pandemic and you can’t just get on a plane and go back and forth on weekends — taught us a lot about each other very quickly,” Woodley said.
“We jumped in headfirst and got some of the sticky bits out of the way early,” Woodley added.
A clue in the Shape story suggests that the romance may have started about three months after the start of COVID-19 lockdown, which was March 19 in California and later in the month in other parts of the United States.
Woodley revealed that she was alone for the first three months of lockdown. “I was by myself with my dog and didn’t see anyone for three months,” Woodley said. “It forced me to be still and quiet.”
The Shape story then reported that “seven months” after the end of that lonely lockdown period, Woodley and Rodgers were a well-established couple and hunkering down together in Montreal, where she was making a movie. With his NFL season done, Rodgers was “binge-watching ‘Jeopardy’ to prepare for a two-week stint as host.”
Principal photography for Woodley’s crime thriller “Misanthrope” took place from January to March 2021. It was during this period that Rodgers surprised fans by announcing that he and Woodley were engaged. He proclaimed “I’m engaged,” while accepting the NFL Most Valuable Player award via Zoom on Jan 30.
A couple of weeks later on “The Tonight Show,” Woodley confirmed the engagement and told host Jimmy Fallon that they had been “engaged for a while now.”
Many on social media wondered, what does “a while now” mean when he only split from Patrick seven months earlier?
This question also reminded people of rumors and reports that had been simmering around the internet since the summer of 2020. The reports were that Woodley and Rodgers, a former star player for the Cal Golden Bears, began dating around the time he split from Patrick in July. Sports gossip site TerezOwens.com specifically reported in July that Rodgers may have left Patrick, 29, for Woodley after Patrick introduced him to the actor.
Page Six had also reported that Woodley, Rodgers and Patrick were all fans of the same celebrity astrologer.
Rodgers said in a March 2020 interview that Patrick had introduced him to Debra Silverman, while Woodley enjoyed a session with the astrologer in 2017, the astrologer revealed on her website. Perhaps Silverman introduced Woodley and Rodgers, Page Six said.
“The Ringer” podcast CEO and host Bill Simmons noted that Woodley’s comments to Fallon about being together “a while now” “raised more questions than answers” about the relationship.
On “The Dish,” “The Ringer’s” pop culture podcast, Simmons and co-hosts Amanda Dobbins and Juliet Litman thought that Woodley and Rodgers were being vague about the timing of the relationship either because of the Danica Patrick issue or because they had begun seeing each other during the pandemic, when NFL players were subject to strict COVID-19 safety protocols around testing, travel and outside activities.
Woodley also sidestepped Fallon’s questions about whether she had spent time with Rodgers in Green Bay, Wisconsin during the regular season.
But four months later, with the pandemic now easing and restrictions lifting in California and other states, Woodley appeared to have felt freer in talking to Shape about being with Rodgers during the pandemic.
Related ArticlesWoodley also asserted to Shape that she and Rodgers could have met under any circumstances and found their way to each other. Among other things, Woodley said he shares her passion for environmental activism.
The past year, she told Shape, had given her “the perspective that I would have met Aaron in any context, any space in time, because I feel we were meant to be together.”
Certainly, since the couple announced their engagement, they have made the most of their time together, keeping up a busy travel itinerary that has taken them to Mexico, Hot Springs, Arkansas, the Kentucky Derby, Disney World, Malibu and, most recently, Maui. They have yet to reveal a date for getting married.
Patrick, meanwhile, recently revealed she was pretty “broken” after splitting with Rodgers, especially because the breakup happened in the public eye. But she reportedly is now happy and dating new boyfriend Carter Comstock, Us Weekly reported last month.
Aaron Rodgers says spending time apart from Shailene Woodley is a 'good thing'
For Aaron Rodgers and Shailene Woodley, distance can quite possibly make the heart grow fonder.
In a new interview with Haute Living, the NFL quarterback reflects on his upcoming season with the Green Bay Packers and reveals how he copes with being away from his fiancée for long periods of time.
The 37-year-old has been in the NFL for 16 years and he'll be spending the upcoming four months of football season in Wisconsin and on the road. Woodley, 29, is based in Los Angeles and has her own work to focus on, so the couple won't get a lot of one-on-one time for a while. And that's OK with them.
“It’s a busy work time for her, so (my decision to return to the Green Bay Packers) probably came at a good time for both of us to be able to focus on our work. I think it’s going to be a good thing," he explained.
The couple, who met during the pandemic and announced their engagement in February, is gearing up for a busy fall and they're excited to get back to work, even if that means sacrificing some time together.
"I mean, her work was shut down for an entire year, and she’s booked a number of projects. She enjoys working and her own routine, which I obviously enjoy, too,” he said.
Rodgers wasn't so sure that he was going to return to his team this fall but realized that he had at least one more season in him.
“I just woke up one day and said, ‘I think I’m going to play ball.’ I really thought about what I wanted to do, and there are a lot of growth opportunities and good change to be part of in Green Bay, so I decided to come back," he told Haute Living.
Rodgers and Woodley have certainly been soaking up as much quality time together as possible over the last few months before he had to return to work. In May, the couple vacationed in Hawaii with actor Miles Teller and his wife Keleigh Sperry Teller, and appeared to have a blast.
In June, Woodley opened up about her whirlwind romance to Shape magazine and said she and Rodgers moved in together pretty quickly after they began dating.
"Starting a relationship where you immediately move in with someone — because it's a pandemic and you can't just get on a plane and go back and forth on weekends — taught us a lot about each other very quickly," she told the magazine.
"We jumped in headfirst and got some of the sticky bits out of the way early," she added.
During her interview, Woodley explained that she believes she and Rodgers were always supposed to meet each other.
"I have the perspective that I would have met Aaron in any context, any space in time, because I feel we were meant to be together," she said.

Aaron Rodgers says separation from fiancée Shailene Woodley during football season will be 'a good thing'
Aaron Rodgers has no qualms about spending some time away from fiancée Shailene Woodley during the upcoming 2021 NFL season.
The Green Bay Packers quarterback got candid about his whirlwind relationship with the "Big Little Lies" actress and how the two will spend the coming months focusing on their respective careers.
"It’s a busy work time for her, so [my decision] probably came at a good time for both of us to be able to focus on our work," Rodgers, 37, said in a new interview with Haute Living.
"I think it’s going to be a good thing. I mean, her work was shut down for an entire year, and she’s booked a number of projects. She enjoys working and her own routine, which I obviously enjoy, too," he added.
AARON RODGERS CONVERSATIONS HAVE BEEN 'EXCELLENT,' PACKERS' GM BRIAN GUTEKUNST SAYS
Rodgers returned for training camp in July after skipping out on voluntary OTA’s and minicamp amid a dispute with the Packers’ front office. That same month, Woodley admitted she was "slowly but surely" learning about football through her beau.

"I guess I haven't felt any pressure to, but it's exciting," Woodley said of getting into the sport in an interview with Seth Meyers. "The Packers games are the only ones I find really interesting because I have people to actually root for."
"But it is a whole new world, learning all of the different — I still am always, 'Oh, you scored a goal.' He's like, 'It's a touchdown.' Or I'll be like, 'You crossed the line,' and he's like, 'It's a yard,' or whatever,'" she admitted. "I still can't get it right, but I'm learning, slowly but surely."

Yes, we are engaged, we are engaged," she said. "But for us, it's not new news, you know, so it's kind of funny, everybody right now is freaking out over it and we're like, 'Yeah we've been engaged for a while.'"
The duo's slow approach to making their relationship public worked in their favor. Woodley, who is based in Los Angeles, has also been vocal about their decision to live in their own "little bubble" before going public with the news.

Aaron Rodgers and Shailene Woodley’s Relationship Timeline
Who manifested who? While the details of Shailene Woodley and Aaron Rodgers’ whirlwind relationship haven’t all been revealed, one thing is for sure: The couple are head over heels for each other.
According to Woodley, the pair met sometime in 2020 during the coronavirus pandemic. Though rumors about a potential romance were sparked in July 2020, the relationship was kept tightly under wraps for some time after. Fans only found out the couple were dating a few days before their engagement was announced on February 6, 2021.
Rodgers previously dated race car driver Danica Patrick. The two began dating in January 2018 and broke up in July 2020. The former pair met in 2012 at the ESPY Awards, years before their romance began.
“We both remember meeting each other, it was quick,” Patrick said on Jenny McCarthy‘s SiriusXM show in May 2018. “I got his email address, and I remember thinking to myself, ‘Oh, not a phone number? Just an email address?’”
Before Rodgers, Woodley dated rugby player Ben Volavola. The relationship was first confirmed when the activist posted an Instagram picture holding Volavola’s hand in 2017.
Following their breakup, the Divergent actress opened up to Bustle in April 2020 about her love life, admitting she’d previously used relationships to “distract” from getting acquainted with her own self.
“I was in a relationship with someone and we were very much on the road to marriage and children,” she said. “I realized I was still at an age where I wasn’t able to fully commit. I couldn’t be available to him in the way that I wanted to be. I didn’t fully love myself.”
Both Woodley and Rodgers are fans of mindfulness. After announcing his engagement at the NFL Honors Dinner, the Super Bowl champion reminded people “to read books, to meditate, speak things to life, manifest the desires of your heart, question everything and spread love and positivity.” Woodley has previously spoken about her relationship with anxiety and meditation as well.

Much has been made about Aaron Rodgers’ relationship with the Green Bay Packers, but the quarterback is also planning a wedding with girlfriend Shailene Woodley. Rodgers surprisingly revealed that he was engaged as he accepted the MVP award during the NFL Honors show on February 6, 2021. After speculation about Rodgers’ mystery fiancee, the couple went public with their relationship a few weeks later.
As for the wedding, Woodley noted during a July interview with Today that the couple has not started the intense planning process. The actress alluded to the ongoing pandemic as a factor, meaning it could be some time before the couple sets an actual wedding date.
“I mean honestly, that’s [the wedding] not even a conversation we’ve had, with the world today,” Woodley explained. “Yeah, we haven’t even talked about it. I’m not sure what will be the most exciting component of that.”
During a February 23 interview on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, Woodley confirmed their engagement and admitted she was a bit surprised to be dating an athlete. Woodley joked that her dog was a big encouragement to the couple’s relationship getting serious.
“When I first met him, my dog pulled me aside and was like, ‘If you don’t date this dude, I will disown you as my mother because the three feet that I run with you when you throw me the ball is nothing compared to the marathon I’m able to run with him,'” Woodley said with a smile.
Rodgers on Engagement to Woodley: ‘The Best Thing That’s Happened to Me in the Last Year’
The couple may not have a wedding date set, but Rodgers appears to be smitten with Woodley. During an Instagram Live interview, Rodgers described the relationship as the “best thing that’s happened to me in the last year.”
“I’m recently engaged, so been enjoying that part of my life,” Rodgers noted, per People. “Obviously that’s the best thing that’s happened to me in the last year.”
Rodgers broke the internet by casually mentioning he was engaged during his MVP acceptance speech. The Packers quarterback had remained quiet about his relationship status since ex-girlfriend Danica Patrick’s representatives released a statement about their breakup in July 2020.
Patrick Described Herself as ‘Broken Open’ After Her Split With Rodgers

Rodgers and Patrick had a very public relationship prior to their breakup, often posting photos of their adventures together on social media. The quarterback’s latest relationship has been much different with most people not knowing they were even dating prior to Rodgers casually revealing he was engaged. During an April appearance on National Geographic’s Running Wild With Bear Grylls, Patrick admitted she was “broken up” as things came to an end with Rodgers.
“I think we learn the most about ourselves through relationships, but there’s nothing like heartbreak to really throw you in the deep end of that,” Patrick explained, per Vanity Fair. “But I’ve learned a lot and as broken open as I was on the sad end, I have felt so much joy in so many more instances and so many more unlikely places than I ever have, so it’s like my heart got broken open to both ends of the spectrum.”
