Wow raid mount

Wow raid mount DEFAULT

Rare or special NPCs around the world that have a chance of dropping a mount. Many of these are extremely low drops, though others are guaranteed. See the individual mount pages for more information.

Fel-Spotted Eggs from Argus have a chance to hatch one of four possible mana ray mounts. The eggs are a chance drop from specific rares on Argus - Varga in Antoran Wastes, Naroua in Krokuun, and Sabuul in Mac'Aree. One looted, an egg takes 5 days to hatch and you may hold more than one at once. The mana ray mount that hatches is random, and it's possible to get the same mount more than once, as well as a chance of companion pets and junk items.

These involve farming regular, hostile NPCs in a zone for a low chance of getting a specific mount.

These mounts don't drop directly from NPCs, instead you will receive an egg that you incubate in your inventory until it hatches into the mount. The three Primal raptors hatch from Primal Eggs, which are rare drops from devilsaurs, direhorns and skyscreamers on the Isle of Giants. After three days a looted egg will hatch, with 100% chance of looting the Reins of the Black, Green or Red Primal Raptor. The mount is random and it's possible to receive the same mount more than once.

Low-chance drops from Boss NPCs in dungeons. Many of these require a certain degree of difficulty (such as Heroic of Mythic) for the mount to drop.

Low-chance drops from Boss NPCs in raids. Some of these require a certain degree of difficulty (such as Heroic of Mythic), or a certain raid size (10 or 25) for the mount to drop.

Random drops from regular ('trash') NPCs in raids.

A reward for completing a dungeon within a specific time limit.

A reward for completing a raid within a specific time limit.

Other Loot Mounts

farming raid mountsThere are so many raids that drop mounts and any raid that isn’t current content typically has a 1% chance, or less, of dropping a mount. So you should settle in for many attempts and become accustomed to disappointment. This is my current, weekly farming route for raid mounts. The route is subject to change as I acquire said mounts; thus the potential for multiple parts.

There are a few addons and weakauras you can use for mount farming. Rarity seems to be the most popular mount/pet/toy farming addon. It’s highly recommended by my guild mates. I’ve just started using it myself so I cannot provide too much feedback, or support (at the time of this post).

You will also need your Hearthstone (which you should always have) and I would also keep your Dalaran Hearthstone handy. Also, make sure you have lots of space in your bags and a vendor mount is super handy (such as the Traveler’s Tundra Mammoth). Since some mounts only drop from specific difficulties I suggest to always have your Raid Difficulty set to 25-Man Heroic.

Here are the list of raids/encounters I farm weekly (the number indicates the mounts available):

There are 18 mounts from those raids/encounters. As I said previously, obviously this isn’t a full list but there are only so many hours in a day and I try to use as many toons as possible in a given week. Therefore I have to have a manageable list.

Onyxia’s Lair, MoP World Bosses & Throne of Thunder

I think Onyxia is a great place to start. It’s really short; in fact it will probably take you longer to get there than to kill her. She is located in Dustwallow Marsh. Make your way to Stormwind (or Orgrimmar) and I would use the portal to Uldum and take a taxi to Mudsprocket. You could probably get there faster flying on your own, but I’m lazy.

Boss: Onyxia
Item: Reins of the Onyxian Drake
Approximate time to clear: about 2 minutes

Next I go kill the four Mists of Pandaria World Bosses, which I’ve already covered in a separate post. As I mention at the end of that post, after you kill Nalak, instead of hearthing you can enter the Throne of Thunder. There are two mounts in Throne of Thunder and it doesn’t even require clearing the entire dungeon. This is one of those raids where a vendor mount will be handy, unless you decide not to loot any trash you kill along the way. I loot everything because every little bit of gold helps (buy more mounts).

Boss: Horridon
Item: Spawn of Horridon

Boss: Ji-Kun
Item: Clutch of Ji-Kun

Approximate time to finish: about 25-30 minutes

At this point you can do the remaining raids in any order you want, with the possible exception of Eye of Eternity, Icecrown Citidel and Ulduar. I usually hit Firelands next.

Firelands, Eye of Eternity, ICC and Ulduar

Make your way to Stormwind (or Orgrimmar) and take the portal to Hyjal. Mount up and fly south to the entrance to Firelands. You can’t miss it, it’s the big castle covered in flames. There are a couple of vendors outside and inside the dungeon so take the opportunity to empty your bags, there is a lot of trash in this one, although you can use a mount throughout most of this dungeon.

I head straight for Alysrazor, killing as much trash along the way to trigger Shannox. All bosses must be killed to get to Ragnaros. Important Note for Hunters: Dismiss your pet for the Lord Rhyolith fight, they have been known to bug out the encounter.

Boss: Alyzrazor
Item: Flametalon of Alysrazor

Boss: Ragnaros
Item: Smoldering Egg of Millagazor

Approximate time to finish: 12-15 minutes

Lich King Raids

The next three raids are all in the Wrath of the Lich King expansion so you want the “Dalaran, Crystalsong Forest” portal from your respective portal room. Again, the order in which you do this is up to you. I usually start with Eye of Eternity; it’s the one that is farthest away but it can be done in about 2 minutes.

Boss: Malygos
Items: Reins of the Azure Drake, Reins of the Blue Drake
Approximate time to finish: 2 minutes

Follow this guide and Invincible could be yours!

If you still plan to go to ICC and/or Ulduar, I wouldn’t hearth. Just leave the dungeon and fly to your next raid. I usually go for ICC next. There are only a couple of places where you can use a mount in ICC so make sure you empty your bags as frequently as you can because you have to kill just about every boss to get to Arthas. Valithria is the only one you can skip by hugging the wall. In fact you have to skip her on classes that do not have a healing spell.

Boss: Lich King
Item: Invincible’s Reins
Approximate time to finish: 25-30 minutes

If you still need to do Ulduar its your choice how you want to get there. You can hearth and take the Dalaran portal again, or leave the dungeon and fly there. In Ulduar you don’t have to kill all the bosses but you do need to defeat the four keepers and DO NOT ACTIVATE THEM. You need to defeat Yogg-Saron with NO KEEPERS.

Boss: Yogg-Saron (No Keepers)
Item: Mimiron’s Head
Approximate time to finish: 20-25 minutes

Dragon Soul and Nighthold

If you’re going to do Nighthold first, use your Dalaran Hearthstone. There are two mounts in Nighthold, both of them drop from Gul’dan but only one drops on Mythic difficulty. I tried to solo Mythic Nighthold on a level 120 Paladin tank with a 467 item level and I still died on the second boss. So Mythic might be a challenge even at 120. I’d probably stick to just going for one mount on Heroic difficulty. I’ll admit that I’m not farming Nighthold frequently, at the moment. In fact this one may get pushed to the next farming iteration (or until I have Heroic Shadowlands gear so Mythic is easier).

Boss: Gul’dan
Items: Living Infernal Core, Fiendish Hellfire Core (Mythic Only)
Approximate time to finish: I don’t know for sure. Maybe a half hour; longer if you’re trying Mythic

Dragon Soul

The entrance for Dragon Soul, in case you’ve forgotten, is in Caverns of Time. There should be a portal to CoT from your respective portal rooms in Stormwind or Orgrimmar. You will have access to some vendors in the base of Wyrmrest Temple, which you will need because a lot of loot drops from trash and bosses.

A few things before you start Dragon Soul. I would get the “Dragon Soul Mount Farming” weakaura, it’s super helpful for the second-to-last boss. Also, make sure you don’t have any abilities, trinkets, or enchantments that cause damage when you take damage. The spine boss can be especially difficult if you cause incidental damage. Hunters and Warlocks should dismiss their pets or put them on Passive. The weakaura will help you prevent Deathwing from doing his Roll ability. Basically you want to keep strafing left and right while you kill enough Corrupted Blood to get enough stacks for the Hideous Amalgamation to become super heated. It’s tricky but its doable, you just need patience and concentration.

Boss: Ultraxion
Item: Experiment 12-B

Boss: Madness of Deathwing
Items: Life-Binder’s Handmaiden, Reins of the Blazing Drake

Approximate time to finish: 25-30 minutes (depending on your efficiency on the Spine of Deathwing encounter)

If you haven’t done Nighthold, use your Dalaran Hearthstone, otherwise hearth home. You’re done … for now.

Final Thoughts

Perseverance is the key. Most of the mounts have a <1% drop rate so you have you keep at it and don’t give up. You’re going to walk away empty handed probably 99% of the time. Of the 18 mounts available in this list, I have only collected 4 of them, and some of them I’ve been farming for almost 2 years. I try to do all of these encounters on 5 different toons a week.

There is a silver lining (for some, perhaps). You will collect quite a few appearances for transmog if you are using multiple classes of different armor types. There are also quite a few pets that can drop, especially in Firelands and ICC. You will make quite a bit of gold too; probably a few thousand per toon.

If you would like to share your tips and tricks for farming raid mounts or would like to share any stories, please leave them in the comments.

Good Luck and Good Hunting.

Buying WoW raid mounts

If you are on this page you are familiar with the concept of mount collection in World of Warcraft. Buying mounts that originate from WoW raids is quite a good option. Even if you are a novice player, you should be aware that WoW raid mounts are the rarest, cool-looking, and difficult to get species of all rideable creatures in our favorite game.

Almost any raiding mount in World of Warcraft can be acquired through our boosting store. However, there are some requirements that go with each of our products. To check them out you will have to select the item you are interested in and check the product description.

It is important to note that each mount has a different way of acquisition and therefore the following variables can be changed from one mount carry run to another:

  • Time of the raid mount farm in WoW can differ;

  • Farming of several rare WoW raid mounts can take weeks or even months.

Raid mounts in WoW: types and description

There are 3 main types of raid mounts that can be bought in World of Warcraft. Some of them are unique and have only a few percent chances to drop. Others are a guaranteed drop from some raid bosses or can be acquired by completion of “raiders glory” achievements.

The process of a raid mount sell-run is pretty straightforward. It consists of these easy to follow steps:

  • our manager will instantly reach out to you to clarify all the details;
  • schedule the raid time of your mount carry run;
  • attend the mount raid loot run and get your reward;

Some mounts may require multiple raid runs (known as raid mount farming) over the course of several weeks. Our manager will guide you through the full process and explain clearly how your particular raid mount carry would be organized.

Glory of the Raider mounts for sale

The raider’s glory mounts are an ultimate reward for completing the most challenging PvE achievements of the current raid tier. They are a solid 100% drop chance right after the proc of raid meta-achievement. There have been a lot of such mounts over the years of WoW raiding history.

WoW New Player Weekly Mount Farm Route - You NEED to Start These ASAP!

The coolest World of Warcraft mounts that take absolutely no effort to get

You want to look like a badass in World of Warcraft, but you don't have the time or energy to sit and farm Invincible, Arthas' warhorse, for 500 hours. Or maybe you haven't spent years hoarding a few million gold to drop on the Black Market Auction House for a sweet ride like everyone's favorite long-necked dino. Or, hell, maybe you're just extremely lazy. No judgements. Whatever the reason is, you can get around in style in World of Warcraft without wasting countless hours of your life, and without breaking the bank. If you're the type of person who just wants a cool mount without much effort this is the guide for you.

Below you'll find a list of very cool mounts that either have a 100 percent drop rate, simply require you to mess around some of World of Warcraft's older zones, or mounts that cost just a modest amount of gold. Here are some of my favorite, and easiest to get, mounts in World of Warcraft.

(You can click on the mount's name to see its Wowhead page for more info.)

Bronze Drake

What is better than a good dragon to ride around on? Nothing, that's what. The Bronze Drake is truly a classic, and it has aged gracefully. It might not be as fancy as WoW's modern dragon mounts—lacking both the polygon count and cool visual effects, but there's beauty in its simplicity. Also younger players will probably think you got this from some uber-challenging raid boss from way back in the day or something. The best part is, this bad boy takes less than 15 minutes to acquire, and it is a 100 percent drop chance.

How to get it: To acquire the Bronze Drake all you have to do is go to The Culling of Stratholme instance, a dungeon in the Caverns of Time, reenacting one of Warcraft 3's most iconic scenes. But you're not here for that, you're here to get your inner Sonic the Hedgehog on and go fast. All you have to do is complete the dungeon, following the markers on your minimap, before the timer expires. Given that this dungeon is nearly 15 years old, it's a cake walk. When you get to the end of the dungeon you can walk straight past Mal'ganis and face off against Infinite Corruptor—who you will easily kill in just one shot. Loot your defeated foe to claim your prize, Reins of the Bronze Drake.

Shimmermist Runner

Look at this horse. My horse is amazing. Shimmermist Runner is a new addition in Shadowlands and may be one of the coolest mounts in the game. And it takes less than five minutes to get her. This is probably my favorite mount from Shadowlands, and the one I use most often.

How to get: Head down to Ardenweald—more specifically the area called Root-Home—and get ready to traverse the maze of Tirna Scithe. You'll need to take a very specific route through Tirna Scithe, but our guide has all the necessary steps (and also shows you how to get some other very easy Shadowlands-specific mounts). Once you get to the end of the maze there's one rare mob that stands in the way of you and your horse. Take it down and claim your prize.

Grand Expedition Yak

In the time it took you to read this opening sentence, you could have already purchased this yak. That's how easy it is. The only downside is that the Grand Expedition Yak does cost a modest 120,000 gold—which will take a little bit of time if you're brand new. Most of you should have the coin, though. It's worth it because this is one of the most useful mounts in the game. It has both a transmog vendor and a regular vendor strapped to either side of the saddle. Now you can empty your bags or change your appearance in a pinch.

How to get: To get your hands on this mighty mount you'll have to head to Kun-Lai Summit in Mists of Pandaria, and make your way to the village of One Keg on your map. From there it's a simple jaunt to the east where you'll find Uncle Bigpocket, who will gladly sell you this most prized yak.

Arboreal Gulper

The Arboreal Gulper is the current meme mount of Shadowlands. If you own it and spend enough time hanging around popular cities like Oribos, you're bound to find an opportunity to join congo lines or form a massive circle of players all sitting astride their own Arboreal Gulper. It's also just one of the coolest, and easiest to obtain mounts in World of Warcraft. The Gulper is a 100 percent drop chance from a rare mob found in Ardenweald.

How to get: To start you need to loot an Unusually Large Mushroom, from any mob in all of Ardenweald. Any mob can drop the mushroom, and more likely than not you've already had one, or a dozen, and not even noticed. After you've acquired your mushroom, you can head off to spawn Humon'gozz, a rare boss with a fair amount of HP (I'd recommend bringing a friend or two to help you down him, as you'll all get the mount). If you're having any trouble getting Humon'gozz to spawn, or downing him, check out our guide. After you have your Gulper the world is your… fly? Osyster? I'm not sure, but enjoy your time in Gulper trains around Oribos, Gulper choruses outside of Castle Nathria, or maybe just enjoy life on the hop.

Red Flying Cloud

If you've ever seen any of the Dragon Ball animes, you are well acquainted with Goku's awesome flying cloud. Now how cool would it be to have one of your own? Well if you're exalted with the Lorewalkers, which, considering they were a Mists of Pandaria rep is decently likely, or if you're willing to grind out the now trivial reputation, all you have to do is fly around and pick up a few scrolls and turn them into Lorewalker Cho. If you prefer a video guide, check this out from Nobbel. Once that errand is done, it's time to enjoy your cloud. And it will only take an hour or two.

How to get: The Red Flying Cloud is a simple 600 gold purchase away, all you have to do is head to the Vale of Eternal Blossoms and speak to Tan Shin Tiao after reaching exalted status with the Lorewalkers. Not only is the Red Flying Cloud a cool crossover, it is one of the more timeless mounts in World of Warcraft.

Smoldering Ember Wyrm

The Smoldering Ember Wyrm (or Nightbane) is one of World of Warcraft's most poorly kept secrets, but now that we have moved past the Legion expansion it's easy to get on your own, and is one of the coolest dragon mounts in the game. Who doesn't want to ride around on a flaming skeleton dragon?

How to get: To get your hands on Nightbane you'll have to go into Karazhan—the Legion dungeon, not the original vanilla one. If you're confused, here's a guide. Once inside the dungeon, you're going to see a message in chat that reads "The strange chill of a dark presence winds through the air." This is the beginning of a secret timer that requires you to  find five crystals in five minutes, though each crystal resets the timer back to five minutes. The guide on the exact locations of each can be found on Wowhead. Don't worry, though. If you're level 60 it shouldn't take more than a single try as the timer was initially designed for max-level players back in Legion. You'll be way stronger than that and can probably one-shot most monsters. Once you've finished running all over the tower you will face off against Nightbane himself. He was a tough boss at the time, but not anymore. Smoldering Ember Wyrm has a 20 percent chance to drop, so it's not a guarantee. But running this a few times will probably only take you an hour or so.

Sandstone Drake

The final mount on our guide is extremely unique: You don't ride it, you transform into it. It even has an extra seat so a friend can ride you. Sandstone Drake is an extremely useful mount, as one of the few two-seater flying mounts in World of Warcraft. This drake is traditionally a recipe learned through Alchemy— but we have a shortcut. Because otherwise what's the point of this lazy farming guide?

How to get: As I said above, there's two ways to get Sandstone Drake, you can loot the Recipe: Vial of Sands from Archaeology, and then spend a whole bunch of time farming a bunch of items—boring. Your other option is going to your favorite auction house and purchasing "Vial of the Sands" for about 60,000 gold and skipping all that. Who said money can't buy happiness?

If these none of these mounts pique your interest, here's some other awesome mounts that just might:

Of course, such views may be surprising and even unusual to you, but this is how we live. Igor nodded his head, in fact, he was very brave. Or arrogant.
