Federal Reserve Bank of New York Pay & Benefits reviews

A stagnant culture creates few opportunities

Senior Analyst / Officer - Markets Group (Former Employee) - New York, NY - May 25, 2019

The NY Fed hires really intelligent and capable junior people who are genuinely driven by the FRBNY mission. It is a great place to learn and grow early in your career. However, the stiff and bureaucratic culture creates few opportunities for talented people.

Advancement is not very meritocratic and based more on length of service. The Bank has an ongoing talent retention problem as the “best and brightest” don’t stay long. Simply put, the most talented employees feel underutilized, unsatisfied and are drawn to more dynamic roles elsewhere leaving behind a less-than-stellar pool of talent.

The hollowing out of talent and leadership is very apparent. Middle and upper management are full of mediocre talent who stuck it out together. Given their advancement was based on attrition and sheer doggedness, virtually none of them are dynamic or thoughtful leaders. The long-standing pattern of outstanding junior staff led by weak, uninspiring managers is likely to perpetuate.

Pros

Great learning environment early in career; supportive culture; strong sense of mission

Cons

Stagnant culture lacks dynamism; mediocre compensation; uninspiring, weak leadership

The Federal Reserve Bank of New York is one of the 12 Federal Reserve Banks of the United States. It is responsible for the Second District of the Federal Reserve System, which encompasses New York State, the 12 northern counties of New Jersey, Fairfield County in Connecticut, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Located at 33 Liberty Street, New York, New York, it is by far the largest, most active and most influential of the Reserve Banks. In addition to having the same responsibilities and tasks as the other Reserve Banks, it acts as the market agent of the Federal Reserve System, the sole fiscal agent of the U.S. Department of the Treasury, the bearer of the Treasury's General Account, and the custodian of the world's largest gold storage reserve. Among the other regional Reserve banks, the New York Fed and its president are therefore considered first among equals.

Its current president is John C. Williams.

Working at the Federal Reserve

Half an hour later, we stopped at some station, and the light of a searchlight just illuminated our entire room. And what I saw literally made me breathe twice as often. My companion, it turns out, before going to bed took off her tight pants and a beacon, and slept naked, but covered with a sheet.

And apparently from.

Now discussing:

But don't break free - no one here will rape you. - Andrey, tightly squeezing Nikitin's wrists, pressed his hands into the mattress, thereby depriving Nikita of the opportunity to actively resist. - Wait, Nikita, do not twitch. - pressing the hands of Nikita on his back to the bed - pressing his groin into the guy's groin with force, Andrei raised his head, carefully looking.

Into Nikita's eyes.
