Good beginner trails can be found at the Calhoun Recreation Center and Salacoa Creek Park. The Sonoraville Recreation Center offers a good beginner to intermediate trail. The Water Tank Trails are more intermediate.

The 1.5-mile nature trail at Salacoa Creek Park is just one of the park’s amenities. This 364-acre recreational area consists of 32 RV sites with 30 amp electric hook-ups, water, fire ring, picnic table, deck and dump station; 25 primitive camping sites with restrooms and shower facilities; a 126-acre lake with swimming and beach area, 2 playgrounds, a picnic pavilion (with electricity and water) that accommodates up to 100 people, a boat launch area (electric motors only), and john boat rentals.

Or check out the parks at Sonoraville. The Sonoraville Recreation Complex is a 79-acre park featuring 6 lighted tennis courts, 4 lighted baseball fields, 2 soccer fields, a lighted football field, a skate-park, 2 playgrounds, picnic pavilions and a community center with a 2 basketball court gymnasium, fitness center, 3 community rooms, concessions stand and locker rooms. Nearby, the Harold “Ooky” Faith Memorial Park is a 10-acre park on Belwood Road that consists of a 1.5-mile lighted asphalt walking loop trail around a pond, two gazebos, and a fenced playground.
