Best sword in dauntless

Best sword in dauntless DEFAULT

The Sword is one of Dauntless’s weapon types. It is an extremely simple weapon to use, you don’t need great skills to master the style of combat with it. It allows a relatively high mobility when fighting, although some of the movements of the combos can leave you sold out when dodging.

Below you will see the combos and all the weapons in the game, plus some tips after trying them all. There are also the exotic swords but that’s what we talked about in another section of the website.

What are you going to find here?

Sword attacks combos

The specialty of this type of weapon is cutting off parts of the Behemoth. However, you must bear in mind that against enemies with shells, such as Skarn, it loses effectiveness if you don’t hit unprotected parts.

  • Light attack: charge the special meter quickly.
  • Heavy Attack: does the basic weapon damage + the corresponding elemental damage.
  • Basic Combo: Light attack x4.
  • Elemental shot combo: light attack x3, heavy attack x2.
  • Elemental combo: heavy attack x3.
  • Combo elemental chain: heavy attack x2, pause, heavy attack until you consume your energy.

Remember that all weapons, except the Training Sword and Recruit weapons, start with an attack power of 100 and can go up to 550 improving the weapon. All swords have a damage bonification against weaknesses and a damage reduction against resistances.

The best swords of each element

As we already know there are different magical elements in dauntless that allow us to attack the weaknesses of each behemoth. We have compiled a list with the best swords in each element.

Elemental Neutral swords

Raging BladeRaging Blade is the best neutral sword. It is not that they are the most suitable to choose since they are neutral and do not have unique effects, but between the Gnasher, Quillshot and Shrike we consider that the best is the first.

Gnasher does not have unique effect what is a problem, but on the other hand includes anger enhancer of the hunter that gives us a higher percentage against angry behemoths.

Elemental Fire swords

Inferno's RazorInferno’s Razor is the best fire sword. We have the Charrogg, Embermane and Hellion. Between them we keep the Hellion.

The Hellion counts on a cell of domination that according to how we have improved it potentiates us the damage against stunned behemoths. It also has a very interesting unique effect where the eighth shot in quick succession deals 250 additional damage and a large amount of igneous damage.

Elemental Ice swords

Onus of BoreusOnus of Boreus is the best ice sword. Among them we find the sword of Pangar, Boreus and Skraev.

We are left with the Boreus sword that has a very interesting cell in conditioner that gives points of regeneration of endurance. And then a unique effect that we love where the continuous use of special attacks generates icy spirits that add 50 additional damage and a small amount of icy damage to your next attack.

Elemental Shock swords

Storm SwordStorm Sword is the best shock sword. These include Drask, Nayzaga and Stormclaw.

We keep the Stormclaw because it has an energized cell that gives us a higher percentage of weapon loading speed. In addition as a unique effect has that after dodging through an attack, the next attack of the weapon will have 500% additional load for the meter of the weapon.

Elemental Terra swords

Skarn's RancorSkarn’s Rancor is the best terra sword. Skarn, Kharabak and Koshai are not among them.

Among them we are left with the Skarn that has a cell that can increase the stunner damage, and has a unique effect where inflicting damage has the ability to give a shield of 40 health that accumulates and refreshes with a duration of 12 seconds.

Elemental Umbral swords

Stalker's StrikeStalker’s Strike is the best umbral sword. Among these swords we find Shrowd and Riftstalker.

We stay with the Riftstalker that has wild frenzy cell that increases the attack speed when we have less than a certain percentage of health. It also has the unique effect that when inflicting damage gives us the ability to generate an orb of shadows that increases the damage by 2.5% for five seconds.

Elemental Radiant swords

Call of DawnCall of Dawn is the best radiant sword. We ran into the Rezakiri and Valomyr.

In our opinion, the best radiant is Rezakiri, which has a cunning cell that increases the probability of a critical strike, and a unique effect of a 10% probability that the attacks will strike twice.

Tips for using the sword 100%

  • It would be good if you unlock the Reactive Hilt modification for the sword, and you’ll get it at level 10. Thanks to this your DPS, the damage you can do per second, will increase considerably.
  • Use all combos: the sword is one of the easiest weapons to use. So don’t just bang the button, and learn the best combos you can make with the sword gradually.
  • Choose the best for each situation; even if you like to carry a sword and think it is very powerful, it may not be the best one to use in a given situation. You must always have several favorite weapons, which can get you out of trouble depending on the moment of the game or the enemy you are facing. One sword doesn’t fit all.
  • Watch out for the exotics: finding an exotic weapon doesn’t ensure it’s one of the best weapons in the game. The exotics are not very well leveled, and while they have a spectacular design, perhaps none of them would fit into the best swords in the game.
  • You must move constantly: to know how to use the sword properly, you must be moving steadily across the stage. A passive player has nothing to do with this type of weapon.

Start with the Sword

It is also with the weapon you’ll be begin in Dauntless with and while it won’t be long until you can freely swap to whatever you please, there’s a good reason you begin with this weapon in hand.

The light attacks come out decently quick and can also be linked into heavy attack if you pause during your triple element combo. The heavy attacks are more vertical and slower but deal pretty nice raw damage.

When attacking with the Sword you’ll be charging up your overdrive meter which powers up your strikes and also allows you attack from a short distance. This also allows you to use your Aether dash which lets you move a great distance in an instant.

Sours: https://dauntlesswiki.com/dauntless-sword-guide/

Dauntless is just one of those games that greatly reward the deep maximization of your characters. Its mechanics are tight and balanced – creating the perfect space for experimentation and building the best unit you can.

If you’re serious about building the best character that suits your playstyle, then weapon choice will be a huge decision.

To help you out, we’ve created a list that ranks each weapon type in the game from best to worst.

You can use this as a guide for choosing which one to master; or as a reference point to check whether you’ve made a good decision or not.

Note: You can create overpowered builds with ANY weapon type in the game. The gap between the highest and lowest tiers is not wide at all. That said, this list tries to objectively look at each weapon’s innate strengths, weaknesses, ease of use, and playstyle, then ranks them based on that.

S-Tier

S Tier 5

These are weapons that have a lot going for them, mechanics-wise. They have little to no glaring flaws and are accessible to players of varying skill levels.

WeaponDescription
Chain bladesEver want to play as Kratos in Dauntless? Well, the chain blades are the closest thing to achieving that.

Putting the novelty aside, the chain blades are one of the best weapons in the game because of their excellence in all aspects. They have a fast attack speed, you gain a lot of mobility while wielding them, you can use them in varying ranges, and their damage potential can also go through the roof because of the reaper dance stacks.

One thing to note about this weapon is that it’s easy to fall into the habit of button mashing because of how fast you attack. To make the chain blades shine, you need to have good knowledge of the game’s mechanics such as severing parts, positioning, and interrupting enemies. Once you master these, you’ll have the easiest time cutting through enemies with this weapon.
Aether StrikersThe strikers focus on fast, hard-hitting combos that contribute to your mantra gauge. Mantra can then be spent to activate techniques – some of which buff your character, while others unleash devastating attacks.

The aether strikers have a high skill cap to them, but what’s great about this is they’re also accessible to beginners. Maximizing the damage your aether strikers provide requires a lot of precise resource management and placement. However, players who don’t utilize this can also dish out serviceable damage. That’s how good this weapon is.

To sum up the aether strikers, they’re a clear S-tier as is, and can be elevated further with proper investment from the player.

A-Tier

A Tier 5

Weapons that have very minor flaws to them that prevent them from being OP most of the time.

WeaponDescription
SwordThe sword is a great weapon for players of all skill levels. Don’t be fooled though, its accessibility does not diminish its viability in any way. It has tight and straightforward mechanics, mainly: basic combos, valor combos, and the overdrive mode.

This weapon excels at severing monster parts because of its slashing type of attack. Because of its fast attack speed and non-committal moves, the sword is a safe weapon to use – perfect if you’re looking to experiment with the game’s various mechanics.

Damage-wise the sword is sort of middle-of-the-pack, but that disappears once the player utilizes the right builds and playstyles. The one that revolves around the cyclone ability (AKA spin-to-win) is especially useful against the swaths of behemoths you’ll encounter

Overall, the sword is a solid weapon that only gets better the more experience the player has with it.
AxeAxes in Dauntless have slow attack speeds (hammers may be the only ones slower) with powerful slashing damage.

That’s not all there is to this weapon though, it’s in this high tier because of its resolve and determination mechanics. These two traits cover the player both bolster the player offensively and defensively. Resolve increases your resistance to staggering, while Determination buffs your damage through the roof.

Mastering both of these will lead to quick, yet safe encounters with behemoths throughout your playthrough. Despite the axe’s relatively simple move set, it’s still one of the most viable weapons in the game.

B-Tier

B Tier 5

These are excellent weapons, but they have flaws that cannot be easily overlooked.

WeaponDescription
HammerThe hammer has the highest raw damage potential in the game, bar none. Even with its slow attack speed, it could easily destroy behemoths with well-placed blows that would almost certainly stagger them.

As if that’s not devastating enough, the hammer’s concussive salvo ability provides a ranged attack option that can also interrupt a charging enemy. In several cases, this will be the attack that forces an opening for you to go absolutely ham on a downed enemy.

All these great attributes come with a price. The hammer arguably has the highest skill cap of any weapon in the game. Its slow, methodical, and precise play style requires technical mastery of the game’s mechanics, as well as stellar execution on the part of the player.

Because of this roadblock, most players fail at getting consistent results with the hammer. If you’re willing to go the extra mile in mastering this weapon, however, you’ll find yourself truly rewarded.

C-Tier

C Tier 5

Good weapons that fall a little middle-of-the-pack due to better out there.

WeaponDescription
War PikeThe pike has some basic combos and attacks that have a decent reach to them. Connecting on these attacks fills up the weapon’s meter, which could be expended to shoot long-ranged blasts that can interrupt opponents.

The pike’s repertoire is quite easy to nail down. Attack your enemy, gain charges, then blast them to stagger. While this is a decent strategy, the pike’s slow attacks and limited mobility prevent this from being executed flawlessly. Now if you had more evasive actions, or if the pike didn’t consume as much stamina as it does, then the pike would place higher on this list.

D-Tier

D Tier 5

Good weapons that fall a little middle-of-the-pack due to better out there.

WeaponDescription
RepeatersBeing the only true ranged weapons in the game, repeaters will always have a faithful following of players.

Repeaters are versatile weapons. They provide sustained damage from afar, elemental buffs that take advantage of enemy weaknesses, and decent mobility while using them. The problem is that the game goes out of its way to disincentivize the player from using the weapon’s niche use. For instance, repeaters suffer from damage loss if you shoot too far from the opponent. Additionally, the empowered reload buff can only be activated within a certain range from the enemy.

All these restrictions neuter the repeaters’ versatile use case. They are certainly viable for any challenge the game has to offer, but we feel like they could be a lot better.

Beginner High Damage Part-Breaking Build

Focuses On Breaking Behemoth Parts & Damage-Dealing

This build supplements the Sword's capabilities in severing monster parts such as tails. Bladestorm and Sharpened amp up part-breaking damage while Evasive Fury will increase the Sword's attack speed.

Break Parts With Bladestorm & Sharpened

Bladestorm does extra part damage in every hit and amps this up extremely when you dodge after an attack. Sharpened complements this by adding more part damage per hit.

Add Attack Speed With Evasive Fury & Embermane's Rapture

In this build, your attack speed will increase when Evasive Fury is activated. Dodge through an attack to increase your attack speed for 16 seconds.

Ragehunter Deals More Damage On Enraged Behemoths

With Ragehunter activated, your attack power will increase against enraged Behemoths. This is a perfect match with part-breaking damage as you'll hit the Behemoth harder when it's enraged.

Early to End-Game Loadout Using Iceborne / Lifesteal

Easy To Assemble Early to Mid Game

This build utilizes easy to acquire items, mostly from Boreus and Gnasher, which are one of the few Behemoths that you face early game. The only challenging bit here is acquiring the Hellion helmet.

Great for End-Game DPS & Survivability

Iceborne, Rage and Wild Frenzy synergize well as they give various buffs when a Slayer is low health. These become more viable perks to have at the end-game when Behemoths start to hit harder.

Core Perks Must Be Allocated On Armor

Iceborne, Rage, and Wild Frenzy which are the main requirements for this build must be allocated on armor pieces, so it's easier to swap out weapons.

More HP & Increased Lifesteal With Tough

A maxed out Tough Perk adds 500 to your HP bar, giving you a bigger health pool, while improving healing from all sources which also works well with Iceborne!

Has Neutral Resistance Against Behemoths

The Hellplate Casque and the Boreal March's resistances will cancel each other out, maintaining neutral resistance against all Behemoth types.

Dauntless Sword Tier List - Strongest To Weakest
of page where ad should appear --> \ \ '); }

The largest weakness of the sword is that it has the least reach. So, you want to be as mobile as you can in order to catch up with behemoths when they start running around the arena. Also, they’re not exactly great when it comes to staggering, but they are better some other weapons. So long as you knock the enemy in the head, you’ll manage to stagger it. So, yeah, focus on speed, mind all your combos, and you’ll be just great with the sword.

We’ll now go through what we believe are the best swords in Dauntless for each element. In some cases, the answer is really clear. In others, there are two options that are pretty much equally viable. Let’s dive right in.

Cry of the Shrike – Best Neutral Sword

Cry of the Shrike is probably among the first of the fancier swords you’ll be able to craft. All the crafting materials you need from it come from the Shrike. For the base version, you’ll need 3 Torn Shrikefeather, which is a common drop, and one Razor Beak, which you get by pounding the Shrike in the head. That’s something you wanna try and do anyway, if you’re going for the stagger.

Cry of the Shrike has two Mobility Cell slots, which is fantastic for movement speed. Also, its Perk is Conditioning, which increases Stamina regeneration. To top it off, the unique effect grants you +50 Part Damage to the first attack right after you dodge. This, coupled with the Reactive Hilt mod, will turn you into a veritable buzzsaw.

Another good option early on is the Raging Blade, which you craft from Gnasher Reagents. However, I’d go for the Shrike. True, it’s a build heavily slanted towards speed and movement, but then again, that’s what you want.

Inferno’s Razor – Best Fire Sword in Dauntless

Inferno’s Razor is a fantastic Fire Sword, or Blaze, if you will. The main catch here is staggering. The Perk is Overpower, which increases damage against staggered behemoths. Plus, its Unique Effect is that the eight hit in succession deals 250 bonus damage, and major Blaze damage. Realistically, you can only pull that kind of combo on a staggered beast. To craft Inferno’s Blaze, you’ll need 4 Hellhide and 2 Charred Browplate, both of which drop from Hellion.

Now, you might already see the problem here – Swords aren’t fantastic at staggering. So, Inferno’s Razor is a bit situational. You wanna have somebody on your team that is very stagger-happy for you to execute the full potential of your sword. Then again, everybody’s stagger-happy, so it’ll probably work just fine.

If you want something a little more universal, you can try the Ember Cutlass, made of Embermane parts (2 Hide, 2 Emberhorn, 1 Smoked Dewclaw). It has more mobility, and grants extra attack speed when dodging through an enemy attack. The Unique Ability is that every seventh hit deals +250% Part damage. Solid stuff, but not quite as beastly as the Inferno’s Razor under the right circumstances.

Onus of Boreus – Dauntless Frost Sword

Onus of Boreus is a great option for a Frost sword. Its Perk, like with the Cry of the Shrike, is Conditioning, which regenerates Stamina. Giving how Stamina-thirsty swords are, you get why this is good choice. The Unique Effect is generating Frost Sprites after using a Special continually. These sprites deal 50 bonus damage, plus some frost damage, and you can have up to four. To craft the Onus of Boreus, you’ll need 3 Boreus Hide, 1 Horn Fragment, and 1 Icy Hindscale. The hide is a common drop, the Horn comes from the head, and the Hindscale drops from, you’ve guessed it, the tail of the Boreus.

That said, the Winter Ice sword, made of Skreav Reagents (3 Skraev Feathers, 1 Skraev Tailfeather) is a fantastic option if you’re a player that likes to dodge and get up right in the enemy’s grill. It regenerates stamina when dodging through enemy attacks, and evading drops three Ice Mines on a 30 second cooldown. It’s a pretty good option; in fact, I’d say these two are about equal.

Dauntless Thundering Blade – Best Shock Sword

The Thundering Blade is arguably the best Storm or Shock sword in Dauntless; although, the Storm Sword makes a damned good case, as we’ll cover in a second. Now, the Thundering Blade is an excellent choice for some material farming; especially if you need some Tail Reagents (like an Elemental Tailgem). Why? Because it deals 20% damage vs behemoth tails. Plus, you get some increase to Lantern Charge from attacks, thanks to the Aetheric Attunement Perk.

To craft the Thundering Blade, you’ll need several Drask reagents. Specifically, 3 Drask Hide, 1 Fractal Eyetooth, and 1 Electroscale. The Hide is a common drop, the Eyetooth comes from the head, and Electroscale comes from the tail. So, yeah, great option for farming.

Now, the Storm Sword is an excellent option as well. This one is, again, for the more mobile. It has a Technique Cell and Mobility Cell. The Energized Perk increases your weapon meter gain. The Unique Perk grants you 300% meter gain with your next weapon attack after dodging through an enemy attack. Add that to the Adhesive Hilt mod that makes you unstaggerable while in special mode, and you can probably picture the amount of havoc you can cause.

Now, it is a bit trickier to farm reagents for this one. You’ll need 4 Stormclaw Hide, 2 Glinttooth, and 2 Capacitail. I think by know you can kinda glean which Reagent drops from which part of the beast. Hide you get for slaying the monster, Glinttooth comes from the head, Capacitail, shockingly, from the tail.

Skarn’s Rancor – Terra Sword in Dauntless

If we’re being brutally honest, none of the Terra swords in Dauntless are anything to write home about. But, if you really want to stick to nothing but swords, might as well use Skarn’s Rancor. Why? Well, because its Perk, Knockout King, increases your Stagger damage. Given how shaky Swords are with Stagger damage, it’s good stuff. Also, based on the damage you deal, there’s a chance that the sword will grant you a stacking 40 health shield that lasts for twelve seconds.

Plus, it’s not horribly hard to farm. All you need is 2 Rockscale and 1 Browscale. The Rockscale is a common drop for killing a Skarn, and the Browscale can drop if you hit the Skarn in the head. Overall, a fairly decent weapon, as far as Terra Swords go.

Another option for a Terra sword is Sovereign’s Torment. The Unique Effect gives a 25% increased damage to four consecutive attacks after not dealing damage for six seconds. Yeah, it’s a little stop-and-go. Its Perk, Sharpened, increases your Part damage. To make a Sovereign’s Torment, you’ll need to farm Koshai behemoths. It’s kinda meh, really, but you might like it.

Stalker’s Strike – Best Umbral Sword

Stalker’s Strike is definitely the best Umbral Sword in Dauntless. The Perk it has is Wild Frenzy, which increases your Attack Speed when you’re at low health. Personally, I don’t love gear that requires me to be at low health in the first place, but hey, it’s a good perk. It also has one Technique Cell and one Utility Cell. Oh, and it has a Unique Effect that becomes more powerful, depending on the power level. Let’s go through those.

Now, the Unique Perk of Stalker’s Strike is that it generates Shadow Orbs that increase your damage for five seconds. If you manage to generate five Orbs or more, the bonus will double. The Orbs generate while you’re dealing damage, based on the damage you deal. From the base level to +5, the Orbs give you a 1.5% damage increase. From +6 to +9, it’s 2%, and from +10 to +15, it becomes +2.5%, still doubling if you generate 5+ Orbs.

The behemoth you have to farm for the Stalker’s Strike is the Riftstalker, aka the bat-headed mountain lion thing that teleports around the stage being annoying. You’ll need 4 Rifthide and 2 Nightbringer Riftspike. The Riftspike drops if you hit the tail of the beast, and Rifthide is a common drop for killing the Riftstalker. A little tricky, maybe, but at this point, you’re probably already well-versed in the game.

Valomyr’s Regard – Best Dauntless Radiant Sword

Valomyr’s Regard, like Stalker’s Strike, is absolutely the best Radiant Sword in Dauntless. The Perk is Aetherhunter, which increases damage against aether-charged behemoths. It also offers one Power Cell and Utility Cell to modify it. Plus, it has a pretty good Unique Ability. Once you charge it, your next attack will deal 550 bonus radiant damage, and the charge rate will increase with your current health.

Now, as the name suggests, you’ll have to farm Valomyr in order to get the Reagents you need to craft this weapon. Specifically, you’ll need 4 Valomyr Hide, 2 Unstable Tailspike, and 2 Apocalypse Horn. Despite the frightening names, it’s more of the usual stuff. The Apocalypse Horn drops from hitting the Valomyr’s Horn, the Tailspike from the tail, and the Hide drops from just plain killing the monster.

Top Weapon Ranking List In Dauntless

Weapon Ranking Is Based On:

Overall Damage Output

Each weapon in Dauntless has the capacity to deal enough damage to down Behemoths, given they are upgraded accordingly. Weapons with a higher damage output, balanced with attack speed & mobility, are more effective in the game.

Efficiency In Solo & Multiplayer

Weapons that can be used in both solo play and multiplayer mode are more advantageous in Dauntless. This means Slayers can use the weapon any time, no matter if they're playing alone or with friends.

Ease Of Use

Weapons are more effective and are ranked higher due to their ease of use, having less complicated combos, and have moderate mastery needed.

Capacity To Boop

A crucial factor in the ranking involves a weapon's ability to boop or interrupt Behemoth attacks. This ensures that the weapon can support the Slayer in both solo or multiplayer mode, creating openings for them to dish out heavy damage to the Behemoth.

S Tier - Axe

Overall Great Damage & Usability

Axe - Overall Great Damage & Usability

The Axe is at the top of the weapons in Dauntless, doing great damage wherever it is placed. It can do a lot of things - boop Behemoths, sever Behemoth parts, and even be used as a throwable in the game.

Great Damage In Solo & Multiplayer

The Axe can carry a Slayer in both solo mode or multiplayer. It deals enough damage on its own as long as the Slayer can connect shots and is a great damage dealer when playing with several Slayers in a hunt.

Can Boop & Sever Behemoth Parts

The Axe can interrupt enemy attacks by its Heavy attacks or when it's thrown towards Behemoths. It also does slash damage, making it capable of severing Behemoth horns & tails - crucial parts in building your armor & weapon loadouts.

Slow Attack Speed & Hard To Master

One of the major drawbacks of the Axe is its slow attack speed. It also takes a while to master as charge attacks need knowledge of Behemoth moves & openings for you to land destructive hits.

A Tier - Hammer

Hard-Hitting Staggering Damage

Hammer - Hard-Hitting Staggering Damage

The Hammer has one of the highest damage outputs in the game. It can boop Behemoths & deal staggering damage, important when playing in multiplayer. However, it cannot sever Behemoth parts and has slow attack speed.

Check Out Top 5 Hammer Weapons Here!

Large Damage Output That Can Stagger

The Hammer has one of the biggest damage outputs per hit in Dauntless. It also has the capacity to do stagger damage on Behemoths - this creates an opening for teammates to dish out even heavier damage together.

Slow Speed & Cannot Sever Parts

The Hammer has slow attack speed in exchange of its high damage per hit. It also doesn't have the capacity to sever Behemoth parts as it mainly deals blunt damage.

A Tier - War Pike

Fast DPS With Team Support

Fast DPS With Team Support

The War Pike hits fast and has high DPS. Its ammo shots can boop Behemoth attacks or buff the team, making it flexible to use in solo or team play. Combos are easy to do but consume much stamina and lower mobility due to locking of attack animation.

Fast Hits With Wounding Damage

The War Pike can do very good DPS due to its fast hits. Its piercing attacks also do Wounding damage and its heavy attacks can sever Behemoth parts.

Great Support With Pike Blast Or Buffs

The War Pike can provide great attack opportunities by booping Behemoths with its Pike Blasts. When in team play, it can buff fellow Slayers by using the War Pike's stored ammo as buffs instead.

High Stamina Consumption & Low Mobility

The War Pike's attacks consume a lot of stamina, making it hard to dodge incoming Behemoth attacks. Combined with the tendency to lock into attack animation, the War Pike makes it hard for Slayers to dodge fast & be mobile around the field.

A Tier - Ostian Repeaters

Continuous Damage & High Flexibility

Ostian Repeater Guide - Tutorial, Tips & Tricks

The Ostian Repeaters deal purely ranged damage that is continuous. It boasts of high survivability due to distance from Behemoth &flexibility due to interchangeable modular parts. It can't boop Behemoths & needs crafting parts to be effective.

Purely Ranged Damage

The Ostian Repeaters is a unique weapon in Dauntless in that it deals purely ranged damage. This damage is done continuously and with pinpoint accuracy, helping Slayers break down parts needed for crafting.

Flexibility With Interchangeable Modular Parts

Repeaters are incredibly flexible without the need to switch builds or loadouts. It has interchangeable modular parts that can swap features in an instant. The only downside is that you need to craft many parts for the Repeaters to be truly effective.

Cannot Interrupt Behemoth Attacks

Unless the Repeaters are equipped with a +6 Weighted Strikes Perk, it does not have the capacity to boop Behemoths. This makes it hard to play solo when Behemoths do not provide much room for attacks.

B Tier - Sword

Slash Damage In Close-Range

Sword - Slash Damage In Close-Range

The Sword can deal pretty good slash damage, making it great for multiplayer mode where you can focus on breaking Behemoth parts. However, it is only effective in close-range combat and booping Behemoths is tricky with its slow heavy attacks.

Great Damage In Close-Range

The Sword does its best when fighting against Behemoths in close-range combat. This is complimented by its low consumption of stamina per attack, allowing Slayers to dodge through attacks & continue landing hits on the Behemoth.

Perfect For Breaking Behemoth Parts

The Sword deals mostly slash damage and in high doses, making it a great weapon for targeting and breaking Behemoth parts. It is very effective for Slayers looking farm specific materials in every hunt.

Hard To Boop Behemoths

The Sword can interrupt enemy attacks but only through its slow winding heavy attacks. This makes it very challenging and hard to boop Behemoths.

B Tier - Chain Blades

Deal Quick & Mobile Damage

Chain Blades Guide - Tutorial, Tips & Tricks

The Chain Blades hits quite fast and makes it easy for Slayers to move around. It is easy to use but has low attack damage per hit and cannot boop Behemoths, making it a support for teams with other harder-hitting weapons.

Check Out The Top 5 Chain Blade Weapons Here!

Quick Hits With Great Mobility

The Chain Blades hit Behemoths fast and it's easy to move out of attack animations, making it an extremely mobile weapon for Slayers who like repositioning themselves around the Behemoth.

Lacks Capacity To Hit Hard

The Chain Blades can deal fast & quick damage to Behemoths but each hit lacks the attack power that most weapons in the game have.

Cannot Innately Boop Behemoths

The Chain Blades don't have the capacity to boop Behemoths in Dauntless. They can only interrupt enemy moves when they have the +6 Weighted Strikes Perk applied in the build.

MASTER WITH SWORD IN 10 MINUTES! DAUNTLESS SWORD REVIEW 2021 [PATCH 1.6.2]

Dauntless: The Ultimate Weapon Tier List

Dauntlessis an action RPG video game that launched in May 2019. It is free-to-play as well as co-op. Developed by Phoenix Labs, this game sees players teaming up together to take on huge monsters and creatures referred to as behemoths. To match up to these behemoths, the players (dubbed Slayers) must wield a variety of powerful and unique weapons. These include the Axe, the Ostian Repeaters, the War Pike, the Sword, the Chain Blades, the Hammer, and the Aether Strikers.

All of the weapons may be imbued with Aether for greater enhancements, and each comes with a different set of special skills. The weapons are either Slashing, Blunt, or Piercing and may be improved (via tiers) with more and more usage. Each weapon has its advantages, but some outshine the others.

7 The Axe Is Powerful, But Slow

The Axe is a slashing weapon that hits heavy, but stays tactical. Slayers must build up a meter by attacking and then let loose a buff for greater power. This stacks up to three times.

Additionally, the Axe utilizes a couple of mechanics. Resolve gets activated when a vertical attack is charged three times, making the Slayer immune to being staggered. Determination needs just a single horizontal or vertical charged attack and grants higher damage output. Specials for the Axe are Flight of Ruin, Grim Onslaught, and Relentless Onslaught. All three of these involving throwing or hurling the axe.

Overall, the Axe has high damage, as well as decent potential to interrupt, stun, sever, and with each swing. However, it takes a while to charge it up — and that's putting it mildly.

6 The Ostian Repeaters Deal High Damage, But Don't Stagger

The Ostian Repeaters are ranged weapons of the special type. Slayers may choose to get up close and personal or stay far away when attacking. However, the closer they are to the behemoths, the better the damage. Slayers also have access to buffs and traps with these weapons.

RELATED: 10 RPGs With The Best Romances, Ranked

On top of that, Ostian Repeaters can be customized; Barrels, Chambers, Grips, and Prisms are changeable. Barrels change the element, Chambers change the skill shot ability, Grips set the thrown ability, and Prisms control the passive bonus.

The Ostian Repeaters are the ranged weapon champions and deal tons of damage quickly. Unfortunately though, behemoths will not be staggered whatsoever, although their body parts may be severed.

5 The War Pike Isn't A Hard Hitter, But It's Versatile

The War Pike has the ability to perform piercing and slashing in terms of weapon types. It is weak at first, especially compared to the other weapons. Eventually though, the meter will build up via tactical wounds. Once it gets filled, players can fire actual mortar rounds at behemoths. The more energy stored, the more powerful these missiles will be.

Specials for the War Pike are Concussive Payload, Savage Wellspring, Godhang, and Reckless Leap. All three of them involve converting the meter into ammo. Concussive Payload fires a missile, Savage Wellspring creates an aura of buffs, Godhand channels a beam, and Reckless Leap is a lunging attack.

While the War Pike does not do much damage, it strikes fast and wounds body parts, in addition to severing and interrupting. Meanwhile, the player is able to dodge incoming attacks efficiently.

4 The Sword Is Basic & Reliable

The Sword in this game, like in others, is a classic weapon of the slashing weapon type. Players must use it only in close quarters. After the meter builds up, the Sword becomes even faster, capable of severing body parts from behemoths.

Players can create different types of combos with this weapon. Core combos are basic and generate Valour. Valour combos consume Valour, and when unleashed, increase the Special meter. Special combos maximize damage. Specials for the Sword are Valiant Overdrive, Ardent Cyclone, Feast, and Avenging Overdrive. Valiant Overdrive consumes the meter to make the Slayer faster. Ardent Cyclone is a spinning attack. Feast is Valiant Overdrive but with lifesteal. Avenging Overdrive is the same as Valiant Overdrive with the option to parry and riposte a behemoth for massive damage.

Like in many other games, the Sword in Dauntless is not the best but not the worst. It serves as a go-to all-around weapon for every player.

3 Chain Blades Provide Excellent Mobility

The Chain Blades are essentially dual blades with extreme mobility, and are of the slashing weapon type. While typically used up close, the Slayer can lunge from a distance as well.

RELATED: 10 JRPGs That Are Amazing (After A Rough Few Opening Hours)

Specials for the Chain Blades are Reaper's Dance, Cruel Riftstrike, and Insatiable Dance. Reaper's Dance will pull targets if the Slayer is at a distance or push them off if nearby (and grant bonus damage). Cruel Rifstrsike is a teleport with a strike. Insatiable Dance similar to Reaper's Dance, but activates bonus healing instead of damage.

The Chain Blades are unmatched when it comes to mobility and delivering fast attacks, meaning consistent damage. However, the player is completely unable to interrupt behemoths.

2 The Hammer Crushes Behemoths

The Hammer is not only a cudgel, but a cannon too. As players might expect, it is of the blunt weapon type. This weapon can splinter bones and maul scales while blasting behemoths to smithereens.

Specials for the Hammer are Concussive Salvo, Mighty Landbreaker, Molten Edict, and Ironheart Landbreaker. All of them involve loading ammo. Concussive Salvo is a blast, Mighty Landbreaker is an aether vent of buffs, Molten Edict is a fireball, and Ironheart Landbreaker is just a better Mighty Landbreaker.

The Hammer is the king of breaking the behemoths' body part as well as staggering them. Yet, there is no possibility for slashing damage, if needed for the circumstance.

1 Aether Strikers Are Unmatched In Close Quarters

The Aether Strikers are spiritual yet brutal. These weapons are of the blunt type. Wielding these, the Slayer will punch any behemoth into oblivion. The Aether Strikers also charge up energy (called Mantra) and use it to unleash special attacks.

Specials for the Aether Strikers are Adamant Bolt and Titan's Crash. Adamant Bolt is a focused blast of unleashed energy. Titan's Crash is a wave of pressure loaded with unleashed energy.

The Aether Strikers are fast and interrupt behemoths with ease. The player must not stop striking and dodging. The range is poor for this weapon, so they are up close and personal.
