* To identify your iPhone model number, see support.apple.com/kb/HT For details on 5G and LTE support, contact your carrier and see apple.com/iphone/LTE. Cellular technology support is based on iPhone model number and configuration for either CDMA or GSM networks.

  1. Available space is less and varies due to many factors. A standard configuration uses approximately 11GB to 14GB of space (including iOS and preinstalled apps) depending on the model and settings. Preinstalled apps use about 4GB, and you can delete these apps and restore them. Storage capacity subject to change based on software version and may vary by device.
  2. Size and weight vary by configuration and manufacturing process.
  3. iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max are splash, water, and dust resistant and were tested under controlled laboratory conditions with a rating of IP68 under IEC standard (maximum depth of 6 meters up to 30 minutes). Splash, water, and dust resistance are not permanent conditions and resistance might decrease as a result of normal wear. Do not attempt to charge a wet iPhone; refer to the user guide for cleaning and drying instructions. Liquid damage not covered under warranty.
  4. Data plan required. 5G, Gigabit LTE, VoLTE, and Wi-Fi calling are available in select markets and through select carriers. Speeds are based on theoretical throughput and vary based on site conditions and carrier. For details on 5G and LTE support, contact your carrier and see apple.com/iphone/cellular.
  5. Ultra Wideband availability varies by region.
  6. FaceTime calling requires a FaceTime‑enabled device for the caller and recipient and a Wi‑Fi connection. Availability over a cellular network depends on carrier policies; data charges may apply.
  7. Standard Dynamic Range video content only.
  8. Siri may not be available in all languages or in all areas, and features may vary by area. Internet access required. Cellular data charges may apply.
  9. All battery claims depend on network configuration and many other factors; actual results will vary. Battery has limited recharge cycles and may eventually need to be replaced by Apple service provider. Battery life and charge cycles vary by use and settings. See apple.com/batteries and apple.com/iphone/battery.html for more information.
  10. Wireless chargers sold separately.
  11. Testing conducted by Apple in September using preproduction iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max units and software and accessory Apple USB‑C Power Adapter (20W Model A). Fast‑charge testing conducted with drained iPhone units. Charge time varies with settings and environmental factors; actual results will vary.
  12. Use of eSIM requires a wireless service plan (which may include restrictions on switching service providers and roaming, even after contract expiration). Not all carriers support eSIM. Use of eSIM in iPhone may be disabled when purchased from some carriers. See your carrier for details. To learn more, visit support.apple.com/kb/HT
  13. Wireless broadband recommended; fees may apply.
  14. In China mainland, you can use Apple Pay on the web in Safari only on compatible iPhone and iPad models using iOS or later
  15. Data accurate as of product launch.
  16. Apple defines its restrictions on harmful substances, including definitions for what Apple considers to be “free of,” in the Apple Regulated Substances Specification. Every Apple product is free of PVC and phthalates with the exception of AC power cords in India, Thailand (for two-prong AC power cords), and South Korea, where we continue to seek government approval for our PVC and phthalates replacement.

20 Best Tips And Tricks For Your iPhone 12 And 12 Pro – Full Power to You

Apple has recently unveiled the iPhone 12 series, including the iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro max. What is interesting this time is, unlike previous launches, Apple has gone for a bundled launch. On top of that, the series is equipped with the latest A14 Bionic processor, iOS 14 and is equipped with several new features.

The new iOS 14 is already bundled with so many new features and some added features that are only specific to the iPhone 12 series. Here we have identified a list of 20 Best Tips and Tricks for Your iPhone 12 and 12Pro, so you have complete control over your device. Let’s get started.

Tips to gain full power over your iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro

1. Smart Measure Party Trick

The iPhone 12 Pro variants feature a LiDAR sensor at the rear, which aids in better portrait shots, night photography. But that is not all; the sensor can help measure the length of the objects like a measuring tape to calculate the distance.

You can use the pre-installed measure app to use this trick. However, the best implementation is to measure someone’s height or measuring room dimensions by using this app and taking advantage of the LiDAR sensor.

2. Turn On Dark Mode

Although the dark mode is nothing new on iPhone 12, it was introduced last year on the iPhone 11 series with the announcement of iOS But this year, the dark mode comes in handy as all the iPhone 12 series feature a Super Retina XDR OLED display. And the dark mode can save a lot of battery, taking advantage of the OLED display by turning off the dark pixels.

The dark mode makes more sense now as almost all most common apps like WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, etc., have a dark mode. And enabling a dark mode on iOS under “Display & Brightness” can enable a global dark mode.

3. Back Tap custom controls

The new iPhone 12 features an exciting accessibility shortcut where you can simply double/triple tap on the back of your iPhone to enable custom shortcuts or actions. To enable this feature:

  • Head over to Settings > Accessibility
  • Tap “Touch” under “Physical And Motor”
  • Scroll to the bottom and select Back Tap
  • Tap Double Tap or Triple Tap to pick an action

4. Record Dolby Vision Videos

If you are a videographer, then a smartphone capable enough to capture videos in Dolby Vision is a big deal. To enable Dolby Vision, you just need to head over to camera settings and enable it under the “Record Video” section and toggle HDR Video.

5. Set up reachability mode on

Rechability

With the introduction of large-screen iPhones, Apple also introduced something called Reachability to help people make full use of the large screen even with one hand. The reachability feature comes in handy, especially for the iPhone 12 Pro Max; with that large inches display, it becomes impossible to reach the whole display with one hand.

This feature made it easier for users to reach the content on the top of the screen as Reachability brings items from the top of the screen to the lower half of the screen.

Here is how to setup up Reachability on your iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro.

  • Go to Settings
  • Click on Accessibility
  • Select Touch
  • Turn Reachability ON by clicking the toggle

After setting it up, touch on the gesture area at the bottom of the display panel of your device.

6. Get MagSafe Accessories

Magsafe is the new, most convenient, and more efficient variation of wireless charging technology that Apple has implemented on the new iPhone 12 series. The rear of the iPhone 12 series house a series of magnets that make the Magsafe accessories like the Magsafe charger, cases, MagSafe wallets and more at the back of the iPhone using magnets.

The MagSafe charger is the most exciting product as without plugging any cable, you can charge your iPhone using a wireless charger that sticks at the back of your iPhone. This even works with a case on your iPhone, provided you are using MagSafe compatible cases.

But the iPhone 12 can capture night mode pictures with the Ultra-wide lens as well. So, don’t shy away from clicking photos in low-light scenarios with your new iPhone. The wide-angle camera is capable of capturing 27% more light than the iPhone 11 series. Hence, the images clicked by the new iPhones are way better than their predecessors.

The iPhone 12 and every iPhone that runs iOS 14 has a fantastic new shortcut

iOS 14 received a whole host of new features last year, and Apple continues to improve it. Yet, one new feature went completely under the radar and it could completely change how you use your iPhone.

There’s a new button on the iPhone 12 and other iPhones that run iOS It isn’t a physical button, but rather a clever implementation of the phone's internal sensors to give the iPhone increased functionality.

Meet Back Tap

By going into accessibility settings, users can enable back tap. As the name suggests, users can double tap the back of their phone to launch apps or other software functions, like the App Switcher, notification menu, Siri, instant screenshot or Maps.

It’s also possible to add functions with triple tapping to launch anything from the Control Center, to Spotlight, or even mute. What’s cool is that the back tap feature can work when the phone is off or while using another app.

How to use Back Tap

  • Open settings on your iPhone
  • Scroll down to (or search for) Accessibility
  • Select touch
  • Scroll down and tap Back Tap
  • Select Double Tap or Triple Tap
  • Choose a Double tap option, ranging from App Switcher and Mute to Screenshot and Home.
  • You can also select a shortcut, and create new Shortcuts to activate with Back Tap in the separate Shortcuts app.

All the iPhones that support Tap

As mentioned above, any iPhone with iOS 14 can use back tap. Units compatible with iOS 14 include the iPhone lines 11, XS, XR, X, 8, 7, 6s, SE (1st and 2nd generation), and iPod touch (7th generation).

Apple unveiled iOS 14 alongside the new iPhone 12. While it still lacks some of the functions found on top-of-the-line Android phones, it brings with it enough enhancements to be worthy of an upgrade for those on older devices. Just be sure to buy a new charger for fast charging.

Use and customize Control Center on iPhone

In Control Center, tap the Wi-Fi Switch button; to reconnect, tap it again.

To see the name of the connected Wi-Fi network, touch and hold the Wi-Fi Switch button.

Because Wi-Fi isn’t turned off when you disconnect from a network, AirPlay and AirDrop still work, and iPhone joins known networks when you change locations or restart iPhone. To turn off Wi-Fi, go to Settings  > Wi-Fi. (To turn on Wi-Fi again in Control Center, tap the Wi-Fi Switch button.) For information about turning Wi-Fi on or off in Control Center while in airplane mode, see Choose iPhone settings for travel.
